Quick Spaghetti in Red Sauce


Ingredients
  • Spaghetti 1 packet
  • Spaghetti sauce 2 cups
  • Pepperoni sliced 2-3
  • Black olives sliced 5-6
  • Mushrooms sliced 8 ounce
  • Mozzarella cheese shredded 8 ounces
Ingredients for Spaghetti Sauce
  • Olive oil 1 tbsp
  • Onion chopped 1
  • Garlic chopped 1 clove
  • Tomatoes (peeled & diced) 4-5
  • Ketchup 2 tbsp
  • Tomato paste 2 tbsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Dried oregano ½ tsp
  • Salt ¼ tsp
Method for Spaghetti Sauce
  • Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic and cook 2 to 4 minutes, mix in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, ketchup, sugar, oregano and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until flavors are blended, stirring frequently
Method for Spaghetti

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain and transfer to a serving dish. Stir spaghetti sauce into pasta until coated; add pepperoni, olives, and mushrooms on top of spaghetti. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese whilst hot.
