White Tarka Chicken


Ingredients
  • Chicken boneless, cubed 1 kg
  • Fennel seeds powdered 1 tbsp
  • Dry ginger powder ½ tbsp
  • Bay leaves 2 – 3
  • Green cardamoms 3
  • Cinnamon 2 inch piece
  • Cloves 3
  • Salt to taste
  • Yogurt 2 ½ cups
  • Flour 1 tsp
  • Ghee 1 tbsp
  • Caraway seeds 1 tsp
Method
  • Place chicken cubes, fennel seeds powder, dry ginger powder, bay leaves, green cardamoms, cinnamon, cloves and salt in a pan.Add one cup of water and cook till chicken is tender and the liquid has dried up. Whisk the yogurt with flour and add slowly to the chicken. Stir constantly.Simmer till gravy thickens. Prepare a tempering or tarka with ghee and caraway seeds and pour over chicken. Serve hot.
