Methi Chicken
Ingredients
- Chicken boneless 1 kg
- Onion finely chopped 1
- Tomatoes pureed 2
- Oil 2 tbsp
- Black cumin seeds 1 tsp
- Curry leaves 10 – 12
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric 1 tsp
- Ginger & garlic paste 2 ½ tsp
- Cumin powder 1 ½ tsp
- Coriander powder 1 ½ tsp
- Red chili powder 3 tsp
- Yoghurt 2 tbsp
- Fresh fenugreek leaves 2 cups
- Garam masala powder 2 tsp
- Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
Method
- Heat oil. Add cumin seeds and curry leaves, sauté then add chopped onions, salt and turmeric. Add ginger & garlic paste and fry.Add chicken add cumin powder, coriander powder, chilli powder, cover and cook Add tomato paste, water and when the gravy starts boiling simmer 10 -15 minutes or till the chicken is tender. Add whisked yoghurt, gently mix, add freshly chopped fenugreek leaves, allow to cook uncovered for 5 minutes. Just before turning off the heat, add garam masala powder, mix well, garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
