Methi Chicken


Ingredients
  • Chicken boneless 1 kg
  • Onion finely chopped 1
  • Tomatoes pureed 2
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Black cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves 10 – 12
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Ginger & garlic paste 2 ½ tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 ½ tsp
  • Red chili powder 3 tsp
  • Yoghurt 2 tbsp
  • Fresh fenugreek leaves 2 cups
  • Garam masala powder 2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
Method
  • Heat oil. Add cumin seeds and curry leaves, sautĂ© then add chopped onions, salt and turmeric. Add ginger & garlic paste and fry.Add chicken add cumin powder, coriander powder, chilli powder, cover and cook Add tomato paste, water and when the gravy starts boiling simmer 10 -15 minutes or till the chicken is tender. Add whisked yoghurt, gently mix, add freshly chopped fenugreek leaves, allow to cook uncovered for 5 minutes. Just before turning off the heat, add garam masala powder, mix well, garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
