Apple Walnut Cobbler


Ingredients:
  • Thinly sliced apples 4 cups
  • Caster sugar 1/2 cup
  • Ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp
  • Chopped walnuts 1/2 cup
  • Flour 1 cup
  • Caster sugar 1 cup
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Salt 1/4 tsp
  • Beaten egg 1
  • Evaporated milk 1/2 cup
  • Melted butter 1/3 cup
  • Chopped walnuts 1/4 cup
Method:
  • Preheat oven to 165 degrees C. Arrange apple slices in an even layer in the baking dish. In a small bowl, mix together sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts. Sprinkle mixture over apples.In a medium bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl whisk together egg, evaporated milk, and melted butter. Pour milk mixture into flour mixture all at once, and stir until smooth. Pour mixture over apples, and sprinkle top with chopped walnuts. Bake in the preheated oven for 55 minutes.
