Makhani Murgh


Ingredients For the gravy:
  • Cream 1 cup
  • Chopped green chillies 3
  • Chopped onion 1
  • Milk 2-1/2 cup
  • Green cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Chopped ginger 1 tsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  • Dry ginger powder 1/2 tsp
  • White pepper powder 1 tsp
  • Kasoori methi 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 2 tsp
  • Saffron a pinch
  • Chopped almonds 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
For the marinade:
  • Chicken drumsticks ½ kg
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • White pepper powder 2 tsp
For the Garam Masala:
  • Black cardamom 1
  • Green cardamoms 6-8
  • Piece mace 1
  • Cumin seeds 2 tsp
  • Cloves 4-5
  • Cinnamon 1
  • Black peppercorns 4-5
Method:
  • Make small cuts in the drumsticks of chicken. Marinate with ginger, garlic paste and white pepper for thirty minutes. For the garam masala, Dry roast the garam masala ingredients and grind them. For the gravy heat a pan and add cream, onions, green chillies, and cook till the onions are soft. Now add the milk and the marinated chicken, mix well. Add green cardamom powder, chopped ginger, dry ginger powder, coriander leaves, white pepper powder, kasoori methi, garam masala, a pinch of saffron. Let it simmer. SautĂ© well and Add salt. Garnish with chopped almonds and serve hot.
