Roast Chicken with Brown Sauce
Ingredients:
- Chicken 1 kg
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
- Onion chopped 3 tbsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Chilli powder 1 tsp
- Black pepper 1/2 tsp
- Ketchup 3 tbsp
- Mustard powder 1/2 tsp
- Boiled or steamed vegetables to serve
- Fries to serve
For Brown Sauce:
- Flour 2 tbsp
- Stock 1 cup
- Butter 1 tbsp
- Ketchup 1 tbsp
- Vinegar 1 tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp
- HP sauce 1 tbsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper 1/2 tsp
Method:
- Heat oil and fry onion light golden, add chicken, roast for 5 minutes. Add ginger garlic paste, salt and pepper, cook for 5 minutes, add 1 cup water, cover and cook till chicken nearly done, lastly add chili powder and ketchup, cook till chicken dry. For the sauce, heat butter add flour, salt, pepper, next add stock and ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, HP sauce, cook for 5 minutes till sauce thick, remove. Place chicken in a dish, top with brown sauce, serve with fries and steamed vegetables.
