Crispy Chicken Stix


Ingredients:
  • Boneless chicken breasts 4
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Lemon juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Flour 2 cups
  • Paprika 1 tbsp
  • Crushed black pepper 2 tsp
  • Garlic powder 2 tsp
  • Cayenne pepper 1/4 tsp
  • Oil for frying
To serve with:
  • Honey mustard sauce as required
  • BBQ sauce as required
  • Buttermilk Ranch sauce as required
Method:
  • Mix lemon juice with milk to make buttermilk, let stand few minutes and then add the chicken strips to the buttermilk along with ½ teaspoon of salt; mix to combine and marinate for a few minutes. Mix flour, salt, paprika, crushed black pepper, garlic powder, cayenne pepper. Take out the strips from the buttermilk and add them to the flour mixture and toss well to coat the strips; remove the strips from the flour, shake gently to remove excess flour, heat oil and fry for about 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown; remove the strips from the oil and place them onto a paper towel to drain; sprinkle a little salt while the strips are still hot. 
  • To serve, place the crispy chicken stix onto a serving platter, and serve the 3 dipping sauces in small bowls on the side.
