Strawberry Trifle
Ingredients:
- Strawberry jam as required
- Plain cake as required
- Strawberry jelly 1 packet
- Strawberry flavoured custard powder 3 tbsp
- Milk 2 cups
- Sugar 2 tbsp
- Strawberries 1 cup
- Sugar 2-3 tbsp
- Cream 2 cups
- Extra halved strawberries to decorate
Method:
- Mix the strawberries with sugar and till sugar dissolves. Make the jelly by mixing 1 cup hot water to the jelly crystals. To make the custard, dissolve the strawberry flavoured custard powder with some cold milk and boil the remaining milk, add 2 tbsp sugar and slowly add in the custard powder, whisk till thick. Cool. Sandwich the plain cake slices with some strawberry jam. Layer the trifle dish with cake slices. Then put a layer of sweetened strawberries on top, add the jelly cubes, let chill. Add some strawberry custard and top with a thick layer of cream, let set and then decorate with extra strawberries and pipe swirls of cream.
