Chinese Fish


Ingredients:
  • Fish Cubes ½ kg
  • Soya Sauce 2 tbsp
  • Vinegar 1 tbsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Red Chili Powder 1 tsp
  • Corn Flour 2 tbsp
  • spring Onion to garnish 1
  • Brown or white Rice to serve
For Brown Sauce :
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Chopped Garlic 1 tsp
  • Ginger 1/2 inch Piece
  • Diced Onion 1
  • Diced Capsicum 1
  • Sliced Green Chilies 4-5
  • Corn Flour 1 tbsp
  • Water 1/4 cup
  • Soya Sauce 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar 2 tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Sugar 1/2 tsp
Method:
  • Marinate fish in soya sauce, vinegar, salt, red chilli powder and 2 tbsp cornflour for 15 minutes. Sear on a hot pan, a couple of minutes on each side. Add brown sauce and Simmer for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with spring onions and serve with brown/white rice. 
  • For the brown sauce, heat oil, add chopped garlic and thinly sliced ginger, diced onion, diced capsicum, sliced green chillies. Stir-fry for 2 minutes. Now add about 3/4 cup water and bring it to a slow simmer and add the cornflour mixed with 1/4 cup water and soya sauce, vinegar, salt and sugar. Simmer for 2 minutes till glossy.
