Chocolate Cherry Trifle
Ingredients:
- Chocolate cake (sliced) 1 loaf
- Fruit syrup ½ cup
- Cherries to decorate ½ cup
- Cream 1 cup
- Chocolate syrup to drizzle ¼ cup
For Chocolate Pudding:
- Icing sugar 1/2 cup
- Caster sugar 1-1/2 cups
- Cocoa powder 1 cup
- Corn flour 2/3 cup
- Vanilla essence 1 tsp
- Salt a pinch
Method:
- Layer the chocolate cake slices, drizzle with fruit syrup, put the cooled chocolate pudding and refrigerate and then put a layer of cream and decorate the top with cherries, drizzle chocolate sauce and serve chilled.
- To prepare chocolate pudding, combine icing sugar, caster sugar, cocoa powder, corn flour, vanilla essence and salt and store in container with tight-fitting lid. Makes 3 cups mix, yielding 12 servings of prepared pudding. For two servings, combine 1/2 cup chocolate pudding mix, Butter, and milk in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Pour into serving dishes and chill until thickened.
