Harira Chicken
Ingredients:
- Chicken 1 kg
- Oil 5-6 tbsp
- Cinnamon 2-inch stick
- Black peppercorns 10-12
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp
- Finely chopped ginger 2-inch piece
- Roughly chopped celery 1 stick
- Broken dried red chillies 6-8
- Shallots 15-20
- Salt 1 tsp
- Boiled chickpeas 1 cup
- Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
- Lemon juice of 1 lemon
- Finely chopped coriander leaves 2-3 tbsp
- Fried sevaiyaan for garnish
- Celery stick to garnish
- Lemon wedges to garnish
- Heat 2 tbsp oil, add cinnamon, black peppercorns, cumin seeds and sauté till fragrant.Add ginger, celery, dried red chillies, shallots, salt, and turmeric powder and mix well. Grind into a fine paste.Heat 2-3 tbsp oil, add chicken, and cook till golden on both the sides. Heat the remaining oil; add the ground mixture and ½ cup water and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add the chicken pieces and mix well. Add lemon juice, coriander leaves, and mix. Now add 1 cup boiled chickpeas and mix again. Transfer into a serving plate. Garnish with fried sevaiyaan, celery stick and a lemon wedge and serve hot.
