Fish Biryani


Ingredients:
  • Fish Fillets Cubed 1/2 kg
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Grated Onion 1 cup
  • Ginger Paste 1 tsp
  • Garlic Paste 1 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder 1 tbsp
  • Chili Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Salt 1-1/2 tsp
  • Hung Yogurt 1/4 cup
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves 1/4 cup
  • Chopped Green Chilies 4-5
  • Biryani Masala 1/2 tsp
  • Browned Onions 1/3 cup
For the Rice:
  • Rice 2 cup
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Cloves 4
  • Peppercorns 4
  • Cinnamon 1/4tsp
  • Green Cardamoms 4
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Warm Milk 1/2 cup
  • Saffron 1 pinch
Method :
  • Heat the oil. Add onions, cumin and ginger-garlic pastes. Cook. Then add garam masala powder, coriander powder, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and yoghurt. Cook till oil comes on top. Mix in the fish and cook. Top with the browned onions, coriander, green chilies and biryani masala. Saute well. For the Rice heat oil, add cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon and cardamoms. Saute, then add rice, water and salt. Cook till rice is done. Put the fish layer at the bottom of the dish and cover with the rice. Sprinkle it with the rice and saffron-milk mixture.
