Greek Pasta Casserole
 

Ingredients:
  • Minced beef or mutton 1/2 kg
  • Chopped onion 1
  • Minced garlic 4 cloves
  • Dried oregano 3 tsp
  • Dried basil 1 tsp
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper 1/4 tsp
  • Dried thyme 1/4 tsp
  • Tomato sauce 1 cup
  • Chopped tomatoes 1 cup
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Boiled pasta 2 cups
  • Feta cheese 1 cup
Method:
  • In a pan brown the ground beef until colour changes. Add onion, garlic, oregano, basil, pepper and thyme. Sauté. Add tomato sauce, chopped tomatoes, lemon juice and sugar and stir in. Boil then reduce heat and simmer. Stir in pasta and 3/4 cup feta cheese.Place in a pyrex dish and garnish with the remaining feta cheese. Bake at 180 degrees C for 20 minutes.
