Chocolate Cherry Trifle


Ingredients:
  • Chocolate cake (sliced) 1 loaf
  • Fruit syrup ½ cup
  • Cherries to decorate ½ cup
  • Cream 1 cup
  • Chocolate syrup to drizzle ¼ cup
For Chocolate Pudding:
  • Icing sugar 1/2 cup
  • Caster sugar 1-1/2 cups
  • Cocoa powder 1 cup
  • Corn flour 2/3 cup
  • Vanilla essence 1 tsp
  • Salt a pinch
Other Ingredients:
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Milk 1-1/3 cups
Method:
  • Layer the chocolate cake slices, drizzle with fruit syrup, put the cooled chocolate pudding and refrigerate and then put a layer of cream and decorate the top with cherries, drizzle chocolate sauce and serve chilled. 
  • To prepare chocolate pudding, combine icing sugar, caster sugar, cocoa powder, corn flour, vanilla essence and salt and store in container with tight-fitting lid. Makes 3 cups mix, yielding 12 servings of prepared pudding. For two servings, combine 1/2 cup chocolate pudding mix, Butter, and milk in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Pour into serving dishes and chill until thickened.
