Chocolate Chip Cookies


Ingredients
  • Flour sifted 1 cup
  • Flour sifted 2 tbsp
  • Baking soda ½ tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Butter, softened ½ cup
  • Brown sugar, firmly packed 1/3 cup
  • Caster sugar 1/3 cup
  • Egg 1
  • Very hot water 1 ½ tsp
  • Vanilla essence ½ tsp
  • Chocolate chips 1 cup
Method
  • Heat oven to 180 degrees C. Beat butter, brown sugar, caster sugar and egg in large bowl until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in hot water and vanilla essence. Gradually fold in flour, salt and baking soda. Mix in the chocolate chips. Drop dough by well rounded teaspoonful on baking sheets. Bake until golden, about 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack and serve.
